Accessibility Statement

We, SalzburgerLand Tourismus GmbH, endeavour to make our accommodation search (booking.salzburgerland.com) accessible in accordance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz) as amended, implementing the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) on the accessibility requirements for products and services.

Due to the non-conformities and exemptions listed below, this website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1" in accordance with the applicable harmonised European standard "EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2022-08)".

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with the accessibility requirements

  • In our brand colours, the "Start Booking" buttons (white text on blue) and the TrustYou ratings (white text on green) do not reach the required contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
  • Images and descriptions of the accommodations are provided by the hosts through the connected booking systems. Some images have no meaningful text alternative, but only a file name, for example.
  • Some amenities of the accommodations are only supplied in English by the booking systems and are not marked as English text on the German pages.
  • The interactive map can be operated with the keyboard but has no text alternative describing the location of the accommodations. All accommodations can also be reached without the map in the list view.
  • We try to write our texts without abbreviations, foreign words and complicated sentences as far as possible. If a text is not understandable for you and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will try to provide you with an easy-to-understand version.

The remaining points are being worked on continuously, aiming at WCAG 2.2 conformance level AA.

Disproportionate burden

At present, no exemptions due to a disproportionate burden are claimed.

Content not within the scope of the applicable legislation

The website includes content and functions of third parties which are neither developed, financed nor controlled by us. No statement can be made regarding the accessibility of this third-party content, which is therefore also exempt from the requirements of the Accessibility Act. This includes:

  • the feratel booking module on the detail pages of feratel accommodations (availability, prices and booking). Known limitations include missing labels of some buttons, an availability calendar that is not marked up as a table, and insufficient contrast. We have improved its display with enlarged text with our own adjustments.
  • the booking pages of the connected booking systems (for example Capcorn) that the "Book now" buttons lead to,
  • the TrustYou ratings,
  • the map data of OpenStreetMap,
  • the cookie consent management,
  • the spam protection captcha.eu of the newsletter subscription.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 13 October 2026. It is based on a self-assessment of the accommodation search against WCAG 2.2 conformance level AA and EN 301 549 V3.2.1: automated tests with axe and HTML_CodeSniffer as well as manual tests of keyboard operation, enlarging the text to 200 %, text spacing, the display at a window width of 320 px and in Windows contrast themes, and a test with the NVDA screen reader.
